Please see
the
UFS, Discipline Council, and College Statements on General Education and Transfer! The roster of
the
UFS General Education Committee is here;
CUNY Discipline Councils are here. Also, the final version of the revised CUNY Bylaws, passed on October 31, by the Board Committee on Faculty, Staff and Administration and going to full Board on Nov 28, will be available shortly on the CUNY website, www.cuny.edu, follow the link to Trustees, then Board of Trustees Meetings. The UFS holds conferences on topics of general academic interest. The most recent UFS conferences were on Higher Education in the Prisons and General Education & Faculty Authority: CUNY’s Future. Please also look at our other past conferences. The University Faculty Senate also informs the University Community of new documents & proposals up for consideration before the Board of Trustees, and helps provide for appropriate consultation on the issues. One recent example is our Academic Freedom Document; another is an analysis provided by our Budget Advisory Committee on this year's Senior College Allocations. Please see our General Information Site for more faculty governance information. Also of interest: latest issue of the Senate Digest; the 2009 Faculty Experience Survey; and the 2005 Perez v. CUNY Decision. |
